Internship: RISE professional - Research Internships in Science and Engineering - gives recent Canadian graduates, Master and PhD students in engineering a unique opportunity to gain practical, career-building experience working in a German company for the summer. Undergraduates who are RISE alumni or former DAAD scholarship holders are also invited to apply. All participants receive stipends from DAAD to help cover living expenses. Internship: MITACS Internship Programme - Graduate student interns, under the supervision of a university faculty supervisor, undertake a four or eight month project in a Canadian company. Half of the intern's time is spent on site with the partner company, interacting with staff, collecting data and furthering their understanding of the challenge. The remainder of the intern's time is spent at their home university, developing a new tool, technique, methodology or solution to the partner company's research challenge. Green Talents: In February 2009, the German Federal Ministry of Research and Education has launched an initiative to invite talented young researchers from throughout the world to visit the leading environmental technology location Germany. The 'Green Talents' competition under the patronage of Research Minister Dr. Annette Schavan addresses excellent young researchers and engineering scientists in the field of environmental technologies to apply for participation in the 'International Forum for High Potentials in Green Technologies'.

The International Forum will take place in August/September 2009. For one week, the selected participants will travel through Germany, visit leading universities, research institutes and companies, gather specific information about research activities on site and learn about the possibilities of cooperating with German partners. Individual meetings with experts and the presentation of their own research will be part of the forum - as well as a cultural program and a meeting with Minister Dr. Annette Schavan as a special highlight.
